KANOSUKE awarded "Winner of the COOL JAPAN AWARD 2025〈Outbound Category〉"
Our flagship product, KANOSUKE SINGLE MALT, has become the first Japanese whisky to receive the COOL JAPAN AWARD 2025〈Outbound Category〉.
The COOL JAPAN AWARD is a recognition program that highlights Japanese products and initiatives with global appeal. Since its launch in 2015, the award has incorporated the perspectives of international judges to showcase the potential of Japanese culture, technology, and craftsmanship.
The 2025 award ceremony took place on September 3 at the Osaka-Kansai Expo, where 46 winners were selected from 418 nominees nationwide.
KANOSUKE SINGLE MALT was recognized within the Outbound Category, which primarily targets Japanese products, among a total of five award categories including the Inbound Category for municipalities and tourist destinations.
The whisky was praised for being crafted with care in Kagoshima, Hioki, leveraging the region’s rich natural environment and 140 years of shochu-making expertise.
Key points of recognition included:
• Whisky produced using rare and distinctive methods
• A beautiful golden color with mellow and deeply layered flavours
• Distillery tours that allow visitors to experience the production process up close
For international visitors, KANOSUKE offers a new Japanese experience, following in the footsteps of sake, shochu, and Japanese wine.
