Collaboration Series Vol.2 ~ Leading the Way in Kagoshima Craft

The Collaboration Series explores new frontiers in whisky-making through partnerships between distilleries. Each collaboration takes a unique form, from exchanging spirits and casks to bringing together distinct philosophies and craftsmanship. The result is a collection of innovative whiskies that harmonize the character and expertise of each partner.​

The second release, themed “Leading the Way in Kagoshima Craft,” is a collaboration with Mars Tsunuki Distillery, a fellow distillery in Kagoshima.

In the spring of 2020, the two distilleries exchanged new make spirits before maturation. Tsunuki’s new make was matured at the coastal Kanosuke Distillery, while Kanosuke’s new make was matured at the basin-set Tsunuki Distillery. After six years, each distillery crafted its own blend using these carefully aged spirits, resulting in two distinct Blended Malt Japanese Whiskies.
